Sex Differences in the Relationships between School Bullying and Executive Functions in Adolescence

The aim of the current study was to examine associations between different types executive functions (EFs) and bullying involvement in adolescent boys girls. A self-report questionnaire administered 385 adolescents (mean age = 12.6 years) from nine junior high schools France. Participants were divided into four groups: pure victims, bully-victims, bullies, noninvolved. Their parents completed Behavior Rating Inventory Executive Function. Results showed that with inhibition problems more likely be victims or bully-victims. Furthermore, working memory, organization materials, monitoring appeared associated risk being a victim for Bully-victims, especially girls, performed poorly on cool hot EF than controls. Pure bullies did not exhibit any impairments. screening abilities implementation evidence-based promotion programs are discussed.
